We have finally heard information from Bungie about Destiny 2 and its release date!
Fans have desperately been waiting to hear about news of Destiny 2 due to the originals “…lack of content” (James Plafke of Geek.com) and anticipation of a continuation of the compelling tales of the guardians. Bungie has tried to keep its fan base active and in the MMO race by adding in three expansion packs, including various new in-game weaponry, missions, and character customization during this time period. As these new forms of content released, the amount of various rumors and speculations that have surfaced online have tremendously increased.
After nearly a year of fans begging and voicing their opinions on the want of a Destiny 2, this mysterious poster was leaked online:
Initially, this poster was not confirmed and it quickly sent Bungie fans in a chaotic storm of rumors, questions, and excitement! As you can vaguely see, the poster says the release date is September 8, 2017. As we see the three guardians preparing for combat, the poster hints at a brand new battle for fans to be engaging in. It also being reported that there is going to be a brand new Destiny 2 Beta that is set to be released this upcoming summer, 2017.
More leaks began to be teased by the community manager of Destiny, David Dague, in Bungie’s weekly blog post. When asked by various fans about the confirmation of Destiny 2, he responded with this statement:
“You were expecting something else? One milestone at a time, Guardians…” – David Dague
This initial response sent fans into a confused, grey area, leaving them with no real substance as to whether the game is going to be released or not.
Later, Kotaku News Writer Jason Schreier went on to confirm the release of Destiny 2 by stating it shall be released
“Very soon. Stores already getting posters means an announcement is imminent.”
However, it was not officially announced until March 27, 2017 when the official Bungie twitter page tweeted out this image:
Currently details are very scarce on to what the game shall consist of, new variations in gameplay, and what the game has to offer fans.
Nonetheless, the excitement for the currently twitter trending game is on the rise for gamers worldwide!
