EA Says Titanfall 2 Won’t Be Xbox Exclusive

During a recent Conference, Electronic Arts CEO Blake Jorgensen heavily hinted at the as-of-yet unannounced sequel to Titanfall will ‘make a footprint larger than a single platform’. This is incredibly exciting, if not unexpected news from the publishing juggernaut.

There has been heavy speculation that following the March 2014 release of Titanfall, that any subsequent franchise releases would find their way onto other platforms, namely Playstation 4. The full quote from Jorgensen read something like this:

Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.

With around 30 million units sold between the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, having a game being limited to Xbox only is cutting out the larger share of the market. Playstation 4 has sold just over 18.5 million units, splitting the market 62/48 in favor of Sony’s Playstation 4. Obviously, EA will greatly benefit from opening up any other Titanfall games to Playstation 4, as well as making millions of gamers happy. We’ll keep you up to date on any more news regarding Titanfall.
