An easter egg recently found in Fallout 4 have fans comparing two of Bethesda’s best games!

[dropcap size=small]O[/dropcap]ne of the best experiences of playing video games is finding hidden secrets and easter eggs in them. To no surprise, there’s one in Fallout 4 that makes a huge connection to a game made by the same company, Bethesda.

There’s a ship called Prydwen in the research center where senior scribe Neriah is posted. In the research center, you can find a variety of animals, vegetables and plants. Everything you find in the lab can also be found in the wasteland….except one plant.

You might look at this plant and quickly dismiss it as just another plant that you find and move on with the story. Not so fast! If you take a look at the specifics of the plant below, you will see that it can heal you.

If you look closely at this plant, it actually is familiar to another plant you might have seen before. Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls has a plant called Nirnroot that can be found throughout the world of Tamriel. Nirnroot in Elder Scrolls looks like this:

Now, maybe this is just a big coincidence, that people are just getting in over their heads. But next to the plant is a computer log on the discovery of the plant and how the Brotherhood uses it. Ironically, the entries are labeled as NRT (which could stand for Nirnroot) and the way it is described is very similar to Nirnroot in Elder Scrolls. One log says that the experimental plant in Fallout is found at the mouth of a river. Same goes for Nirnroot when you are traveling around Tamriel. The lore says Nirnroot “only grows at the mouth of a river.”

There are plenty of other similarities that can be found between the experimental plant and Nirnroot in the logs. You can read them in the gallery below.

I don’t believe there will be any sort of crossover between the two games, but you never know what might happen. But, it’s always fun discovering easter eggs in games. It’s pretty rare to find those that can create theories like this one that links two different games. Next thing we know, someone will find something that will connect all of Bethesda’s games. Is that what we are on the path to find? Guess we will just have to keep exploring Bethesda!

Be sure to check out both Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls Online, if you haven’t already!
