Fassbender suits up as an all new character for film based around popular stealth-based adventure game.
[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]arlier today, Yahoo showed the world an exclusive first look at Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film. And oh boy does he look good.
Callum Lynch is a brand new character to the franchise and was created specifically for the film. Assassin’s Creed will not focus on any of the characters from any of the games but does take place in the same universe as they do.
Lynch discovers that he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories and is able to relive the life of one of his ancestors, Aguilar, who lived in 15th Century Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. After going back into the past, Lynch gathers the knowledge he will need to combat the evil Knights Templar in the present day.
The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed and is directed by Justin Kurzel. Filming is set to start on Monday and will film on location in Malta, Spain, and London.
Assassin’s Creed is set for release on December 21st, 2016.
