Angelina Jolie 2.0? Just maybe!
The last time we saw Lara Croft on the big screen, the year was 2001 with Angelina Jolie reprising the Tomb Raider role. Fast forward to 2017 and Alicia Vikander has taken the role in the Tomb Raider reboot movie.
Vikander was adamant when saying that the reboot movie will be more of an origin story for Lara Croft. Her first mission revolves following her father’s footsteps in her first archeology quest. Dominic West has been cast to play as the main villain.
Vikander explained to Hitfixx last year that ‘They told me they were doing the film based on the reboot of the game from 2013,’
‘That is more of an origin story. You get into an emotional aspect of getting to know Lara hopefully in an in-depth way.
‘So I hope that doing a film of the rebooted game will bring something new and fresh that’ll stand on its own two legs.’
Vikander played the Tomb Raider video game as a kid: ‘I, with the rest of the world, was excited to see a female protagonist in a video game, ‘I was a bit scared playing it when I was 12, 13. I had to go take little breaks.’
Below looks to be one of Vikander’s stunt scenes she will be performing in the movie. Check them out below!
