He will be joined by Luffy, Naruto, and a number of other legendary anime characters.

While still a few years away, the Tokyo Olympic Committee has already selected the ambassadors of the 2020 Games. Among them is none other than the hope of the universe and protector of the innocent: Son Goku.

The Saiyan warrior isn’t alone though, as he will be joined by handful of other internationally recognizable and immensely popular anime characters. The other ambassadors are Naruto, Luffy from One Piece, Sailor Moon, Shin Chan, Jibanyan from Yo-Kai Watch, Mirai and Riko of Pretty Cure, and Astro Boy.

As ambassadors, these character are not only mascots of the upcoming event, but also representatives of the athleticism, sportsmanship, and harmony the Olympics strive to display.

We’re big fans of all of the ambassadors (even Shin Chan), but we’re most excited to see Goku and Dragon Ball be a part of the upcoming events.

Get hyped for 2020!
