HBO has released a short video leading into the fifth season of Game of Thrones with an introduction to the Sand Snakes, the bastard daughters of Prince Oberyn Martell.
Unlike most bastard children within Westeros, the 8 daughters of the now deceased Oberyn Martell are all loyal members of their house, and have a strong bond and relationship with their father. Or, had as he was killed off last season by Gregor Clegane, otherwise known as “the Mountain“, and brother to “the Hound” in a battle to the death over the fate of Prince Tyrion of House Lannister.
Once they catch wind of what happened to their father, these vicious little vipers will bring about a scorn unlike any other.
Game of Thrones Season 5 is set to debut on April 12, 2015. Just in time will be their new monthly streaming subscription, HBO NOW, a service much like Hulu+ and Netflix, offering up the entire HBO catalog from past, all the way to present and then some (including all of Game of Thrones if you haven’t torrented it already).
