YES, it is finally Happening! After Almost 11 or so years Bandai Namco revealed in this week’s issue of Famitsu .hack//G.U. Last Recode, the HD remaster of the PS2 RPG series .hack//G.U. will soon be released on PS4 and PC platforms. .hack//G.U. was originally released between 2006 and 2007 for Playstation 2. The games split across three volumes: Rebirth, Reminisce and Redemption.

The HD remaster will incorporate new elements that will “make it feel like a new game” and stated not be a simple HD remaster. This remaster is being made in development as part of the .hack series’ 15th anniversary. Daisuke Uchiyama who was the producer of the .hack and .hack//G.U. games and now is the corporate executive officer of Bandai Namco talks more about the game in an interview with CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, who is currently working on the HD remaster.

There has not been any further news on the upcoming HD remaster however, but the main goal is to create an entirely reborn. hack//G.U. experience with updated and improved graphics with added new gameplay elements without harming the source material. you can check out this awesome scan from famitsu article that is simply just a teaser below.
