Could RDJ return for one last film before passing on the role to someone else?

[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ack in 2014 Robert Downey Jr. made it abundantly clear to everyone that he was done with the Iron Man movies and he would not be returning for a fourth Iron Man film. In an interview with Variety, the fifty-year-old actor said, “There isn’t one in the pipe. No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man.” and it was clear that RDJ would only be returning for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War Part One and Two. However, since production on Captain America: Civil War ended the actor appears to have changed his mind.

When news broke that Robert Downey Jr. would appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming no one believed that a fourth Iron Man film could be a possibility. After all, when the trailer dropped showing Tony Stark calling in everyone’s favorite web-slinger for help it made sense that both Peter Parker and Tony Stark would have some sort of relationship prior to the events of Captain America: Civil War. Explaining how that relationship started would mean that RDJ would have to appear in some way or another in Spider-Man’s solo film, so could it be that RDJ isn’t ready to put the suit away just yet?

It was during a Nightline special feature on ABC that RDJ muttered the words that no one thought they would hear him say, “I feel like I could do one more.” RDJ’s response to the question about his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and possible future Iron Man films certainly caught everyone off guard and hopefully more news will develop on the matter over the next coming weeks.

Before we can entertain the thought of what a fourth Iron Man film would be like, it is important to remember that Marvel already has a set schedule with many upcoming films already in the works. Adding a fourth Iron Man film is possible, but doing so could cause complications in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline and for the Infinity War films. Nonetheless, who could possibly say no to one more Iron Man film?

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
