After getting four movies based on Jack Ryan, a TV show is finally in the making for the Tom Clancy character.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan made a recent appearance on the big screen in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. While it may have been anticipated to be a great film, the movie was quite a disappointment. It was believed that this would be the last attempt at a Jack Ryan film, but the CIA agent isn’t giving up just yet.

Carlton Cruse and Michael Bay are said to now be working on a project for Jack Ryan in a TV show. A new Jack Ryan character and plot was recently thought up by Cruse and Lost writer, Graham Roland. The show is predicted to not follow any specific Tom Clancy novel plot. The life of Jack Ryan will be set in present day during what is the prime of his CIA career.

Jack Ryan’s story is currently going to be produced by Paramount TV, Platinum Dunes, and Skydance Media. No network has been solidified at the moment, but there are apparently a number of names trying to make a claim for the show. The Jack Ryan franchise has spanned across 25 years with four different actors playing Jack Ryan, but no TV show has ever been attempted. Stay tuned for further news on who will play Ryan and when/where the TV show will debut.
