‘The Last Guardian’ gets a Permanent $20 Price Drop

A Sony representative confirmed the price cut is not a temporary offer.

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Last Guardian arrived exclusively on PlayStation 4 on December 6, 2016, but it has already been reduced in price by $20; taking it down from its retail price of $59.99 to the more affordable $39.99 (or from £49.99 to £29.99 in the UK).

And this isn’t going to be a one-time offer. A Sony representative confirmed to Polygon that the price cut of SIE Japan Studio’s action-adventure game is a permanent deal (via GameInformer).

Given how long it took to get this game out, it’s quite surprising that Sony decided to drop the price so quickly, but it’s great news for anyone who’s been holding out on picking up the game right away. In the long run, this price cut will probably see an increase in sales, and we’re never going to complain about a more wallet-friendly price tag.

The Last Guardian received very positive reviews from fans and critics alike, with many falling for the adorable – albeit large – cat-bird creature, Trico.

Adorable Trico is adorable.

The game also has absolutely gorgeous music which made us salivate over this Vinyl release of the soundtrack back in November.

The Last Guardian has a lot of heart and charm, and with a lower price tag it’s certainly worth a look.
