Williams addresses the Jon Snow rumours, and gives us an Arya teaser.

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Emmys this month saw the Game of Thrones cast decked out in all their finery, and enjoy a night of big success for the series – which managed to scoop up the coveted award for Best Drama.

But one cast member in particular teased about her characters upcoming plight, as well as crushing the hopes of Jon Snow fans everywhere.

Recently we covered that Kit Harington inadvertently let slip that his character might yet make a comeback in season 6, by stating that Game of Thrones was still going to be a part of his life. This then added fuel to the already burning fire of rumours surrounding Jon Snow, and if he may yet still live.

But, in an interview with TV Vine at the Emmys, Maisie Williams was quick to address the falsity of the interview.

The interviewer began by asking how many times she’d been asked if Jon Sow is alive. Here is where Williams direct reply dismissed the Humo interview rumour – as well as quashing all the hopes and dreams of Snow fans.

‘The answer is no. He’s dead. Sorry. And the interview that you’ve all read that think Kit spoiled it is fabricated, and it was totally false.’

Do you hear that? That’s the sound of Snow fans heart’s collectively breaking. We’re so sorry Snow, it looks like the rumour was just too good to be true.

Boy, that’s cold. Almost as cold as that infernal winter that’s apparently coming.

However, it is important to remember that whilst Jon Snow may be dead, this still doesn’t mean to say we definitely won’t be seeing Snow again – if some of the theories are to be believed, that is. Whilst Williams may have dismissed the interview as false, she didn’t put everything to rest, so to speak.

What a tease, Williams! Well played.

Williams also gave a little teaser about her role as Ayra Stark, with this subtle little line:

‘Ayra may be fighting blind. Ooh.’

Ooh, indeed.

You can watch the full interview down below – where you can also hear a little bit about Williams’ Doctor Who experience.

Game of Thrones is rumoured to air in April, 2016.
