[dropcap size=small]L[/dropcap]uke Skywalker isn’t the only role that Mark Hamill will be reprising in 2015; he will return to his role as the Trickster on CW’s The Flash after originally playing the character on the 90’s incarnation of the series on CBS.

Hamill will first appear in the 17th episode of the current season, and his debut will air sometime in Spring 2015, as reported by HitFix. The Flash Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told the website:

“Having Mark reprise the role as the Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of the Flash. Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes! We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!”

This marks the third time in the show’s early history that an actor has appeared on both iterations of the series. John Wesley Shipp portrayed Barry Allen in the original series and plays his father in the current series, and Amanda Pays reprised her role of Dr. Tina McGee on last week’s episode.

Just look at that costume. Yikes.

The new version of the Trickster is described by the CW as “an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry and Det. West to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original’s deadly footsteps.” So don’t expect to see that same outrageous costume from the 90’s.

Given Hamill’s acting (and voice acting) chops, his portrayal of the infamous villain will surely be one you won’t want to miss.

The Flash currently airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
