After years of planning, progress is finally being made on the Inhumans project!

[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]arvel has done a great job recently of bringing more of their superheroes, who may have previously been unknown to some, to the TV and movie industry. Marvel’s Inhumans started filming in Hawaii, with pictures from production down below!

The highlight of the pictures above is Lockjaw, the 4-foot bulldog weighing in at a whopping 2,000 lbs! For the show, Lockjaw will be created using CGI. In the comics, Lockjaw has the ability to teleport the Inhumans to Earth, which is what the set photos above look to be showing. Perhaps the Inhumans get their first experience with Earth at Starbucks.

Marvel wanted to start this project a long time ago, but a feud within the organization caused the Inhumans project to stall. Arguments between Marvel’s film and TV divisions ended with Marvel Studios president and mega-producer Kevin Feige no longer answering to CEO Ike Perlmutter. Perlmutter heads the TV department and the fallout of the situation ended with Feige and the film department drawing a line between what is done in Marvel’s movies and TV episodes. Just recently, Marvel’s Agents of Shield introduced Terrigan Mists to the show, which plays a key part in the Inhumans series. This allowed the TV department to take on the Inhumans project.

The Inhumans show will be apart of Marvel history for being the first TV series to be shot with IMAX cameras. The first two episodes will be shown in IMAX theaters this year on September 1st!

The Inhumans show will officially debut on September 26th on ABC!
