Unfortunately, no. He will not be playing Birdman.

[dropcap size=small]L[/dropcap]ast month, Michael Keaton was in talks with Sony and Marvel for a role in the upcoming Spiderman: Homecoming movie, which he ended up passing on. Variety reported that Keaton was being eyed to play the villain, but he ended up backing out over some issues with money, as the studio cast Robert Downey Jr. to play Tony Stark, and they couldn’t afford both actors. However, movie insiders now say that they have found a way to include Keaton, and make both actors happy.

If Keaton agrees to the deal, he would be cast as the villain, which is currently unknown. The plot details are being incredibly well guarded, as to not have any mishaps with it being leaked early. Michael would join the likes of Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), and even Zendaya in an unknown role. Jon Watts is set to direct the film, with Amy Pascal producing.

What do you think about Michael Keaton joining the cast? Which villain do you think he should play? Let us know in the comments below!
