[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]ust weeks after Minecraft made its debut on both Playstation 4 and Xbox One, it looks like Playstation Vita users have something to look forward to in the near future as well. Minecraft: Playstation Vita Edition’s developer, 4J Studios, has announced via Twitter that they have sent the Vita version of the game to Sony for its final phase of testing.

No official release date has been set, but (as long as testing goes more smoothly than the PS4 version’s initial failure when given to Sony) the game can be expected to arrive for Vita in the coming weeks. Users who bought Minecraft for PS3 through the PlayStation Network will receive the Vita version for free upon its release date.

In addition, if you have purchased the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions, you can upgrade your games to their respective next-gen consoles for only $4.99 while new PS4 and Xbox One users can join the sandbox building fun for $19.99. The graphics remain the same in the upgraded versions of the game; however, the worlds are 36 times larger and give players more freedom to build upon their existing worlds.

Stay tuned for more information as we wait for an official Vita release date to be announced.
