The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are teaming up with the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel in a unique multi-part comic crossover!
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith both Power Rangers and Justice League films slated for a 2017 release, it was bound to happen that these two juggernaut properties were to meet in some for or another. Wait, what am I saying?! Never in a million years would I have thought that Batman and the Power Rangers would ever share a universe together. But… THAT IS SO FREAKING AWESOME!
The plot seems a little silly, but with the prospects of a crossover, naturally it involves wormholes, portals, and teleporters gone awry.
Something terrible has happened in Angel Grove when the Power Rangers’ Command Center is breached and the teleporters are damaged! Zack the Black Ranger is flung into an alternate universe full of citizens possessing outrageous powers and wearing strange costumes. Will Jason the Red Ranger, Trini the Yellow Ranger, Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Billy the Blue Ranger and Tommy the Green Ranger be able to get to Zack in time to save him from Batman?
Anyway, while these two franchises come together for the first time on the same page, as a multi-part comic series), we do not know yet whether they will be facing off against each other as foes, or if they will join together immediately as two hero groups to fight a much bigger threat. To be honest, both parties will likely be untrusting of each other before realizing their intentions and ultimately fighting a villain team-up of say, Rita and Lord Zedd with perhaps the Legion of Doom or Darkseid even, but those are just my guesses here.
Writer Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us) joins artist Stephen Byrne (Green Arrow) to bring 6 monthly issues starting in January 2017 on this insanely epic crossover, but there is one thing to consider here… Batman recently crossed-over with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the TMNT squad has crossed over with the Power Rangers before (in Space), so maybe some day we can see a super epic mega crossover with TMNT, MMPR, and the JL! But let’s not get too carried away here. For now…
