Natalie Portman will not return in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

But did anyone tell Thor yet? Because I don’t want that job.

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]t was recently reported that Natalie Portman will not be returning for Thor: Ragnarok. Portman played Jane Foster, Thor’s love interest in the series. She played a significant role in both Thor and Thor: The Dark World, so it will be interesting to see how the movie will move forward without using Jane Foster as a plot point as the other movies had.

Good news for fans is that Portman will be replaced by a few big names, so her presence won’t be missed as much. Mark Ruffalo has been tied to the movie so we can expect the Hulk to be in the movie. In addition to Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson has also been added to the cast of Ragnarok. Thompson, best known for being the female lead in Creed, was cast for an unknown role in the movie but the role is supposed to play a “significant” part in Ragnarok and will be in other Marvel movies. It will be very interesting to see if this “unknown role” will turn out to be the addition of a new hero or villain that is being added into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tessa Thompson

While Portman will be missed, Tessa Thompson’s performance in Creed caught our attention and should make her an excellent addition to the Ragnarok cast and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

Thor: Ragnarok will release in theaters November 3, 2017.
