Netflix has revealed that a new Netflix original series, Making a Murderer, is set for a December release.

Binge watchers across the globe are in danger for a possible new addiction provided by Netflix coming next month. Netflix has just revealed their upcoming original series for release, Making a Murderer. Based on a story from a newspaper in 2005, the show will be a 10-part documentary series following Steven Avery. Avery was described as “an outsider from the wrong side of the tracks, convicted and later exonerated of a brutal assault. His release triggered major criminal justice reform legislation, and he filed a lawsuit that threatened to expose corruption in local law enforcement and award him millions of dollars. But in the midst of his very public civil case, he suddenly finds himself the prime suspect in a grisly new crime.”

The show is being directed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos. It has been said to have been in the making for the past ten years and is already gaining a significant amount of publicity. Ricciardi and Demos claim that the historically accurate events are next to unbelievable and that they felt a need share the experiences with Netflix viewers. VP of Netflix Original Documentary Programming, Lisa Nishimura, claims that “there are an unbelievable number of twists and turns in the story arc of Making a Murderer, it feels like it has to be fictional.” The show is currently set for a December 18th release just in time for some holiday binge watching.
