So that way you are scared and sad.

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he producers for the upcoming Friday the 13th reboot, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, had an interview with Variety recently and dropped some interesting nuggets of information about the film.

They said that they want to make Jason seem “unrelenting” and they want to reintroduce him to fans. The most recent Jason Vorhees film, Friday the 13th (2009), had done decent at the box office ($91 million) but it did not restart the franchise like it was intended. Fuller and Form are hoping that their film will be able to start a series of films. They also expressed their faith in writer Aaron Guzikowski to help bridge the gap between new fans and old fans.

Fuller and Form also said that they are going to make the fans care about Jason’s victims.

We have made plenty of slasher movies and what excites us about this one is that our characters aren’t just meat for Jason to butcher. These are real characters which will hopefully make the bond with the audience that much stronger because you really care about the people in this film.

This is pretty exciting for fans of Jason Vorhees. Fuller and Fold seem to have a good grasp on what they need to do for this movie to be successful. Hopefully they will be able to follow through on their ideas.

Friday the 13th is currently scheduled to release in theaters on October 13, 2017.
