Pacific Rim 2 has Finished Filming

Get ready for more Jaeger vs Kaiju action!

[dropcap size=small]P[/dropcap]acific Rim: Uprising, the sequel to Pacific Rim, has officially finished filming after a 6-month long shoot. The film started shooting in Australia and finished in China. Lead actor John Boyega posted the photo below in celebration.

Boyega will play the son Idris Elba’s character in the first film, Stacker Pentecost. He is also going to a Jaegar pilot whose partner is going to be played by Scott Eastwood. We do not know much about Eastwood’s character besides the fact that he is going to be Boyega’s Jaegar partner.

Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, and Rinko Kikuchi are all returning to reprise their roles from the first film. Charlie Hunnam is not expected to be in the film.

Pacific Rim: Uprising will be directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil, Smallville).

Pacific Rim: Uprising is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on February 23, 2018.
