Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam wants to play Green Arrow on Film

Back in March, Charlie Hunnam, who starred in Sons of Anarchy and King Arthur, made it clear that he was not interested in playing as the DC hero Green Arrow.  Many fans wanted to see him try his hand at crossing the bow. If Hunnam looked at himself and Green Arrow side by side he has to admit that he looks a lot like the hero he turned down.  Here is what Hunnam had to say about wearing green tights during an interview with Yahoo Movies.

I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the Batman films. It’s just not really my taste. I must confess I don’t really know who the Green Arrow is. It’s not part of my vision for my career or what I aspire to.

What on earth made Hunnam change his mind?  This time in an interview with Omelete, a reporter told Hunnam he would be the perfect fit for Green Arrow.  Based on the words of Hunnam at this interview it looks like he is beginning to understand why this was such a big deal to fans.

I’m not a fan of the comic books, so I don’t know why people are always asking me about him [Green Arrow], do I look like him? Well then come on DC, what’s up! Give me a call!

Right now the Green Arrow TV series has Stephen Amell taking on the role of Oliver Queen.  Currently, Green Arrow is on its sixth season.  A Green Arrow film isn’t currently in the works at Warner Bros; but chances are it will happen as long as DCEU continues to grow in the right direction.
