The Shape of Water Wins Big at The 90th Academy Awards

Never Forget: “Suicide Squad – An Academy Award-Nominated Film”

The 90th annual Academy Awards were celebrated this past Sunday, recognizing the best of the best from 2017 movies.

The biggest winner of the evening was The Shape of Water, taking home four Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director for Guillermo del Toro. We loved del Toro’s beautifully crafted love story, sexy frogman included, and we’re super happy to see it take the top prize.

Also a notable winner was Jordan Peele, who won Best Original Screenplay for his work on Get Out. The surprise hit, and another one of our favorites from last year, is a fantastic thriller for a number of reasons so we’re glad to see it get recognition too.

AND Blade Runner 2049 (Go watch Blade Runner 2049) took home the Oscar for Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography. Easily one of the most visually striking films of last year, this was the first time Roger Deakins, the best cinematographer working today, won an Oscar, and oooohhhh boy it was well deserved.
