ANNABELLE

Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema bring us this spin-off to 2013’s The Conjuring. As this is a teaser trailer we don’t really get a deep look into the plot details, but basically when the creepy Annabelle doll is introduced into the household of some expecting parents, shit hits the fan. This doll makes Chucky look cute and cuddly.

Annabelle stars Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodard. Written by Gary Dauberman and directed by John R. Leonetti. In theaters October 3.

OUIJA

Since we all saw how well turning a board game into a movie worked out for Battleship (sarcasm), here comes a film based on Hasbro’s Ouija. The film follows a group of teenagers that attempt to contact their recently deceased friend through a “spirit board” but accidentally end up awakening evil in the process. I’m a sucker for teen horror flicks, and this one looks promising.

Ouija stars Ana Coto, Bianca A. Santos, Erin Moriarty, Douglas Smith, Olivia Cooke, Vivis Colombetti, and Shelley Hennig. Written by Julliet Snowden and Stiles White. Directed by Stiles White. In theaters October 24.

BIG HERO 6

In this second trailer for Big Hero 6, a film inspired by the Marvel comic of the same name, we get to hear the characters actually speak. Set in the city of San Fransokyo, we follow a young inventor named Hiro Hamada and his robot Baymax as they put together a team of wannabe crime-fighters to put a stop to a criminal plot. This will be the first Disney animated film to showcase Marvel characters since The Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel Entertainment in 2009.

Big Hero 6 stars Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans, Jr., Génesis Rodríguez, T. J. Miller, and Maya Rudolph. Written by Don Hall and Jordan Roberts. Directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams. In theaters November 7.
