Marvel’s Daredevil series debuts on Netflix in just six weeks, and Marvel’s second Netflix series set to premiere later this year, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, just added three new actors to help round out its already-stacked cast list including Krysten Ritter, David Tennant, Mike Colter, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

[dropcap size=small]R[/dropcap]itter, best known for her starring role in the sitcom Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23 as well as Jesse Pinkman’s girlfriend Jane on Breaking Bad, will portray the titular super hero-turned-detective. Wil Traval (Red Widow) will play an NYPD cop who “takes ‘protect and serve’ very seriously, and Erin Moriarty (True Detective) will play Hope, “a young girl who becomes a client of Alias Investigations.”

While these characters have no equivalent in the comics, Eka Darville (Power Rangers RPM) will play Jones’s neighbor Malcolm “whose own journey will intertwine with her quest in an interesting way,” which could potentially be based off of Malcolm Powder, who was a supporting character who used his knowledge to assist Jones during investigations.

Ex-Doctor Who star Tennant has been cast as her main foe, Kilgrave. The character known as Zebediah Killgrave (with two “L”s in the comics)/The Purple Man originated as a villain of Daredevil’s but reappeared as the main antagonist in the Alias comic series. Colter will play Luke Cage/Power Man whom Jones encounters during an investigation in the TV series, while Moss will play Harper, someone who could be a “powerful ally” to Jones.

Marvel originally announced in December of last year that the A.K.A. Jessica Jones would come to Netflix in late 2015, but Netflix COO Ted Sarandos stated that it could premiere a year apart from the first season of Daredevil. We’ll have more information once an official release date is announced.

What do you think of the casting? Do you think the series will end up on Netflix this year? Tell us in the comments!
