Tom Cruise said to be working with Universal Pictures on a Mummy remake.

Universal is currently working on a The Mummy reboot, and they are thinking about bringing in one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Known by his stellar performance in the Mission Impossible series, including a Mission Impossible film earlier this year, Tom Cruise has apparently been in cahoots with Universal for the upcoming Mummy remake. Universal has been searching for a while for the right star to bring in the publicity for the film and it’s been said that Cruise might be their guy.

Universal Pictures is working on their new “monster universe”, and they hope to mark the beginning of it with the modern remake of the Mummy film. There has been other talks of movie remakes for old time favorites such as Van Helsing, The Wolf Man, and Creature From the Black Lagoon as well.

The Mummy’s script is being written by Jon Spaihts and is being directed by Alex Kurtzman. While no confirmation on Tom Cruise has been made, only time will tell. The Mummy remake is said to hit theaters on March 24, 2017.
