Tom Hiddleston Talks ‘Thor: Ragnarok,’ and his Future as Loki

The Crimson Peak star seems pretty unsure if we’ll see the God of Mischief again.

Easily, one of the most beloved characters from the MCU is Loki.

Through his roles in both Thor films and The Avengers, Tom Hiddleston has portrayed the God of Mischief as a charming, smug, and surprisingly sympathetic villain.

In fact, he was debatably the highlight of the second Thor installment, The Dark World.

But will we see him in the third film, Ragnarok?

Well, it seems as though Hiddleston has no idea.

In an interview with Coming Soon to promote his new film Crimson Peak, directed by Guillermo del Toro, Hiddleston briefly addressed whether we’ll see the Asgardian trickster in Ragnarok.

Hiddleston explained:

“I don’t know. I think I won’t be able to help it if I ever play him again, and I just don’t know when that’s gonna happen, if that’s gonna happen. I would never lose his dimension, but it’s so interesting. I’ve talked with Chris Hemsworth, how those characters have changed as we’ve changed. It’s five years ago since I played him for the first time. That’s a long time ago. So who knows what I’ll be cooking up!”

Sure, Hiddleston really might not know if Loki will be in the new film, but chances he’s playing coy, and his character will definitely show up.

As evident from his fairly indirect answer, Hiddleston probably is not allowed to talk about his role in the film yet.

It’s more than likely his role in Ragnarok has something to do with the conclusion of The Dark World, (SPOILERS!) which sees Loki disguised as Odin, and sitting on his throne. This plot point will surely be addressed and explored in the upcoming film.

On the other hand though, not much is known about Ragnarok. The film has yet to be officially discussed by Marvel, and doesn’t even have a director yet. So maybe Hiddleston really is in the dark.

But again, everyone loves Loki, so expect to see him show up sometime in the future.

Thor: Ragnarok comes to theaters on November 3, 2017.
