The film is being scripted by Dante Harper (Alien: Covenant) so expect something terrifying perhaps?

[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]espite the fact that Peter Parker/Spider-Man is Venom’s first host it appears that Sony is moving forward with the Venom standalone film. With the film supposedly aimed at receiving an R-rating and intended to be scary Sony may have finally stumbled upon something neither Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox, and Marvel Studios have ever done before.

The majority of the previous superhero films have been on the light side of things with the one exception being Logan and Deadpool. Both films succeed in a way that most didn’t think would be possible and so the idea of ‘Horror Sci-Fi’ supervillain-based film doesn’t seem so farfetched anymore. With an R-rating in mind and the film being written by Dante Harper we could see a whole new genre of superhero films.

Venom will be released in theaters on October 5, 2018.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
