What We Know About ‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’

After three hard years of work it looks like we are finally getting a new Assassin’s Creed game from Ubisoft, and here is what we know so far.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith every new Assassin’s Creed game we get a new era to play in, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be no different. The game is set in 1868 London at the height of the Industrial Revolution and follows the story of two twin brothers, Jacob and Evie Frye. The two of them rally the criminal underground to fight a common enemy, the ruling Templars, and plan an uprising.

The name for the game, “Syndicate,” comes from the end goal the players ultimately want to achieve, to create their own syndicate and bring down the Templars. Developers say that every side mission as well as the main story missions will lead you one step closer to reaching this goal.

For the most part, you can play as either Jacob or Evie, but there are a few missions that you can only play as one. Both of them have their own skill tree so you can have two completely different characters to fight with. The twins will also have the ability to hijack vehicles just like GTA, as well have a Batman-like rope launcher to fight with and scale the buildings of London.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is being headed by Ubisoft’s Quebec City studio, and have been working on Syndicate for over three years. The Quebec City studio has been with the franchise since BrotherHood, and has put out work like Assassin’s Creed III: Tyranny of King Washington, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s Freedom Cry DLC. Although all of Ubisoft’s studios are working on the game, Quebec City is the main studio for this project.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be out this fall for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There are no plans to release Syndicate on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or Wii U says Ubisoft.
