[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen San Diego Comic-Con rolls around each year, trailers for shows and movies become a dime a dozen. Luckily, DC Films and Warner Bros. have shown some love to Princess Diana.

As the bridge between man and God in DC’s Trinity, Wonder Woman seems to be heading in the right direction. The trailer starts off with what is presumably what starts the plot of the movie and is quite charming.

It seems like we’ll get an origin story to Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and the way of life on Themyscira, her island. I can’t wait to see the way they build up the lore with Wonder Woman’s Amazonian background and Greek mythology.

The movie takes place during World War 1, which was from 1914 to 1918, so sword-backed dresses were in style. We saw in Batman V Superman a photo of Wonder Woman with Chris Pine, as Steve Trevor, and a few others standing in the aftermath of a battle. In all honesty, the best parts of Batman V Superman were the scenes Gal Gadot appeared in. She brought a certain charm to her scenes as a normal person and as Wonder Woman, she felt like a confident symbol of Hope more than Superman did. All of this is brought into the trailer and we see some rather neat action scenes with her iconic lasso, shield, and sword.

It’s great to see that Wonder Woman is finally being made after being in development hell since 1996. However, the trailer is only the beginning and it shows with the lack of any real threat considering she fought Doomsday. This trailer isn’t going to win over the naysayers but sheds light on a what seems to be a movie with wonderful potential.

Wonder Woman is set to be released on June 2, 2017.
