This handheld classic just got an upgrade to a bigger system and TV screen!

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]n the two years since the PS4 was released, there have been no signs of the system being hacked in anyway. FailOverflow hacking group has changed that by hacking it to play Pokemon, the popular handheld game.

During the video demonstration of the game, it showed that the title of the game was Pokemon: Playstation Version, a modded version of the original title, Pokemon: Emerald Version.

To do this, FailOverflow not only bypassed the console’s security, but they also created their own version of Linux for the console and made a PS4 Linux port that’s available for the public on their website.

FailOverflow is notorious for hacking multiple consoles, including the PS3, Wii and Wii U.

This last December, FailOverflow created a 5-min video, showing viewers their PS4 running a custom version of Linux, which can be viewed below.

FailOverflow was fascinated by the console’s architecture, claiming: “The Marvell engineers who designed the southbridge were smoking some really good stuff.”

While some hackers would call projects like these a hobby, others would call this another way to create pirated games.
