What would Kara’s life look like if she never left Krypton?

[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]or a while now fans of CBS’ Supergirl have wondered if they would ever get to see Superman or if the unstoppable titan would some end up playing a major role in the show. Luckily, fans will get to see Kara interact with Kal-El in a dream of what her life would be like if she never left Krypton.

How could Kara possibly see Kal-El (Superman) you ask? Well, if you’re familiar with the story behind Supergirl and Superman then this information is old news to you, but for those of you who don’t know Kal-El was sent to Earth when he was a baby and Kara was supposed to follow along and watch over him as he grew up. Of course, that never happened and the events of Supergirl that we have seen so far are a result of that.

In order to get around this and introduce fans of Supergirl to Superman/Kal-El the episode will show Kara what her ‘perfect’ life would have been like if she had never left Krypton. There are a few photos above giving you an idea what a young Superman looks like and the actor seems to really fit the role of what a teenage/preteen Superman would look like. The episode is titled For the Girl Who Has Everything, paying homage Alan Moore’s own Superman story that was titled For the Man Who Has Everything back in 1985.

The executive producer of CBS’ Supergirl, Andrew Kreisberg, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, went into more detail about the importance of the episode not only for fans of the show, but for Kara herself.

“For Superman, when it happens to him, it’s his wish for something that he never had. But for her, she wants something back that was taken from her. It really is like her stepping into this fantasy of what life would’ve been like if she had never left Krypton and had grown up there, if her parents were still alive, if she had grown into the person and the life that she wanted to lead. Again, because it’s coming at a time where she’s feeling so low about her life on Earth, it becomes that much more potent. … She’s actually getting back everything that was taken away from her and the only way out of it is to reject it. Imagine how horrible that’s going to be.”

For the Girl Who Has Everything will air on CBS at 8pm ET on Monday, February 15th.
