The phenomenon will release with subtitles and an English Dub.

Rejoice anime fans! One of the most celebrated animated films of last year is finally heading West.

Funimation has confirmed that Your Name will come to theaters in North America this April. It will be released with both English subtitles and an English-language Dub.

From writer/director Makoto Shinkai, who has been called “The New Miyazaki,” Your Name weaves the tale of two high school students who mysteriously swap bodies, and must figure out how to live each others lives.

The film has received immense critical praise and has been hailed as masterpiece. It has also been a tremendous commercial success in Japan; currently the second highest domestic release in the country, behind Spirited Away.

Your Name received a very limited North American release last December for Oscar considerations, but this will be the first time the film will be widely screened.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing ’Your Name.’ to theaters across North America and Canada this spring,” says Mike Duboise, COO of Funimation Entertainment. “Based on audience reaction around the world and a week’s worth of sold out screenings during the film’s Oscar qualifying run last December, we expect ‘Your Name.’ to be a hit with North American theatergoers this April.”

We’ve had our eyes on Your Name for a while, and now we cannot wait to finally see this beautiful and much talked about movie. Get hyped for this spring.

Your Name comes to theaters in North America on April 7.
